Belzian Magic – Full-Service Entertainment for All Occasions

What’s the first thing you think of when you hear the word, “magic?” Perhaps visions of a sharply dressed man pulling a bunny out of a hat floats through your imagination, or maybe you’re a sports fanatic and instantly picture the Orlando Magic NBA basketball team. Whatever your perception of magic, Dustin White, owner of Belzian Magic, has a different vision.

White describes his business as full-service magic geared towards adults and young adults. What this means is that he uses different types of comedy and magic for a variety of purposes.

One form of magic White enjoys is tableside magic, a type of up-close performance, which entertains guests as they wait at restaurants, bars and special events. At these events, guests can interact with White through card and coin magic and even test him as he demonstrates the power of prediction.

“Throughout my shows, I pretty much act like I’m an idiot who can’t do magic at all, but then it just happens,” said White. This type of entertainment is especially effective in educating young adults on tobacco and drug use. “I use humor when giving motivational speeches and lectures at schools,” said White. “It helps get their attention rather than bore them.”

White became interested in magic at the age of 10 after seeing a magician on TV, and at age 16, he started Belzian Magic. After graduation, however, an unfortunate tragedy struck. “After I graduated high school, my house burned down so I ended up spending like three months in a hotel,” said White. “That’s when my career in magic really kicked off because I had nothing else to do.”

Since then, White’s performed at numerous venues in S.D. and N.D. When asked what he wants people to take from his performances, he said, “I just hope they get a little enjoyment out of it, especially since we’re in an economic downturn; it just helps people forget about it,” said White.
